A Luxury Forest Retreat

Guest Book

10th July 10 – Jenny & Chris – North Holmwood

An absolutely lovely few days – The barn is perfect, everything has been thought through, luxury but also really comfortable and relaxing. The decking terrace is the perfect spot for a bbq or even just a drink after dinner and the kitchen is an absolute cooks pleasure. While you are here it’s definitely worth dropping in to The Chequers Pub – The food is wonderful and a great atmosphere. If the sun is shining then a picnic on the beach in Hollywell is a lovely way to spend a day in the sunshine.... A wonderful break – We will be back..

23rd July 10 – Tiffany and Graham – Bedford

Great central pad for so many places to see, shop and eat but is so gorgeously quiet too ( & Plush). Loved the reading material too, was a privilege to stay here!

30th July 10 – Lucy & Gareth – Derbyshire

We have had a fantastic week here at Priors Barn which has been renovated and furnished so thoughtfully, down to every last detail. This is probably the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in! Places to go... Bills Deli in Lewes does a fantastic lunch, Dine Asia in Nutley if you like a good curry. Tunbridge Wells for a wonder around the shops. However, the peace and quiet of the decking is as good as you could ask for! We will be back – Thank You!

13th Aug 10 – Theo & Helga – Netherlands

We had a great stay in your lovely barn conversion. The location is really beautiful and we really got the country living feel! Visited lots of lovely places like Brighton (best Tapas ever – Restaurant near the Royal Pavilion !!!), Chichester and Arundel. We certainly hope to come back to the barn!

21st Aug 10 – Stephen & Janice – Northants

This is a superbly renovated and equipped barn – everything has been thought out to such a high standard. We have stayed in many s/c accommodation over the years and this is in the top 3. The outside space too is perfect and the position is second to none – especially as we could walk to ‘The Chequers’ for a lovely meal. We’ve visted many NT properties and gardens and seen King Fishers and Wakehurst as well as a very large re-dear (stag) which was unexpected!Sheffield park is a glorious park garden and not too far awaybut we also enjoyed the gardeners Monks House which was much smaller but full of wonderful plants. Alfriston Clergy House, Batemans, also Scotney Castle were worth a visit although sissinghurst was a little disappointing! Overall, a wonderful stay – we will be recommending Priors Barn!! Thank You.

27th Aug 10 – Debora & Claire – London

Nice relaxing weel in a lovely barn conversion. Lots of great trails in the Ashdown Forest nearby, kew and millennium seed bank at Wakehurst is lovely and very interesting. Firle Beacon is a great place to join the South Downs Way and the Ram Inn at Firle is a nice place to ‘rehydrate’ after! Chequers Inn is a must if you stay here – nice pub and great food. Had a lovely peaceful week relaxing away for the city – Thanks!

1st Sept 10 – Papina, Neil & Luke Russell – E Lothian

What a wonderful stay we’ve had! Thank You so much. This is truly the most lovely cottage, in a fabulous location – and what a view! I can’t get over what a luxury cottage this is; such great facilities, not only did we want for nothing but everything was just so high spec, we’re very jealous of all your kitchen equipment! We’re now big fans of E Sussex, a really gorgeous place to stay and holiday – we will definitely be back – and will be staying here, unless you’re booked up till 2050!! Thank you so much again, look forward to seeing your friendly face again soon!

10th Sept 10 – Andrew & Sue – Norfolk

What a beautiful place to stay! This really is a first class property, and such a high standard of finish and detail – is GREAT – take the open top bus tour to Beachy Head and back – really interesting. If you fancy a bit of a drive – only around 60 miles – take 1 ½ Hours – have a day at the historic naval dockyards in Portsmouth. It’s a great value day, lots to see and do. The Royal Pavillion at Brighton is another ice way to spend an afternoon – just be careful where you park, can be expensive. Chequers pub up the road seems ok but when you’ve got a place like this, you don’t want to go too far! A really great break, hope to be back someday, Thank You. PS – Check out Kips iPod – excellent sounds!

25th Sept 10 – David – London

24th Nov 10 – Stuart & Donna – London

Had a lovely stay, went in to Lewes on Thursday and enjoyed lunch at Bills Cafe followed by a wonder around the shops – beautiful town. Spent the day at Bailiffs Court Spa on Friday – Amazing Massage! Dinner at Wheelers (The Chequers) on Saturday, food was fantastic, service a little slow but only been open 4 months. Donna made use of the fantastic kitchen and conjured up a superb roast on Sunday. Overall a fantastic stay, beautiful barn with everything you need and great to get out of London. Thanks Kip, we would love to come back again soon.

22nd Dec 10 – Nick & Tina – Brighton

An absolute delight! The Frozen Lake, The Deer in the distance, the fire, the boozer up the hill!! Suck a well thought through and tasteful conversion with all mod cons. We loved it – a great Christmas away from the madness! Thank you, we’ll be back in the summer.

27th Jan 11 Aedin & Andy – Brighton

Wonderful & Relaxing time – didn’t want to leave – Thanks

23rd Feb 11 – Jenny & Chris

We are back! Having been the first guests here we couldn’t resist the opportunity to come back and see if it was as lovely as we remembered – it was! The cold weather gave us the excuse this time to light the fire – you are right Kip, it really does make the barn lovely and toasty. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, we thoroughly enjoyed our little break and really relaxed. Top Tip- If you have time, try driving across to Rye on a sunny day. The drive is absolutely beautiful, there are lots of freshly caught seafood to try, beautiful cobbled streets and lots of interesting shop... well worth the journey – Thanks again Kip...

19th March 11 – Debbie and Mike – Lancashire

Perfect, in every way !

2nd April 11 – Susie and David – Herts

Great location, spent much time listening to the bird song and admiring the stream. God circular walk from the door, onto the weald way and back down the lane. Lewes was fun to explore, loved Charleston Farm after lunch in Alfriston. Weather played it’s part, hottest day for a long walk in Ashdown Forest, homage to Pooh and his friends.

15th April 11 – Jamie & Alison – Broad Oak, Sussex

Has a great weekend, the barn is absolutely stunning and everything you need is here. Will definitely be back – Many Thanks Kip..
